Some quick additional notes:
For many of the current weddings, the average number of attendants has risen from 3 to 6.
If you choose to have 6 or more, remember this – you will have one that is contrary, one struggling financially, and probably one that has issues about how the entire wedding process is wrong! (Remember the movie “Bridesmaids” — how true it was!).
You can have an uneven number of bridesmaids.
You don’t need to have a groomsman for every bridesmaid.
You can have a Best Man of Honor
The more attendants – the higher the expense for you. Six gifts, six bouquets, etc.
They don’t have to wear the same dress, color or style! It can be whatever you want.
One rule of advice, appoint a reliable maid of honor to be the communicator. This MOH should coordinate all the scheduling and be a valuable assistant to keep things go smoothly.
