Advice From One Bride to Another

We can all learn from one another, and we recently asked a number of brides who were just married to tell us just one thing they would share with other brides-to-be.  Here’s what they had to say:

  • The best advice I can give is to ask your groom to help write the thank you notes, after all, the gifts are for him as well.  Also I recommend writing out the thank you cards as the gifts arrive to help make this task more manageable.   Debbie from Oakville

  • Just tell yourself during the day to remember the moment.  Stop and just really absorb the feel of the moment.  Take it all in.    Your wedding day goes so fast.  Jessica – St. Louis

  • Delegate and be organized.    Plan ahead and understand that you just don’t have enough time to do everything yourself.  Heather – Alton
  • When things don’t go as planned – take a deep breath, and then find a solution to the situation.  It rained during our outdoor ceremony, but amazingly we found some fabulous umbrellas just before the wedding, and we just went with it.  You can make it work!  Jennifer – St. Charles
  • Enlist the family and wedding party early in the wedding planning process.  My wedding was truly the work of the entire family.  From beautiful antique pitchers for table centerpieces, to handmade jewelry, everything had very special meaning for us because our family and friends help create the day.  Katie – St. Louis
