Anyone remember David Letterman’s Late Night show?\u00a0 David Letterman had his Top Ten lists.\u00a0 With that in mind, I put together a Top Ten Guidelines to be a Better Bride.\u00a0 This list is designed to help you really enjoy the most important day of your life AND at the same time eliminate the stress of wedding planning.<\/p>\n
Number 10:\u00a0 Flexibility.<\/strong><\/p>\n Have you been planning your dream day your entire life?\u00a0 Your wedding is more likely to go off without a hitch if you are open to options, suggestions, and recommendations.\u00a0 For example, you picked a date in October (one of our most popular month\u2019s here in the St. Louis area) and the venue that you adore is booked!\u00a0 Don\u2019t stress out, look for alternatives.\u00a0 Choose a different date or a different venue.\u00a0 Don\u2019t let your emotions spoil a \u201cvision\u201d that is not set in concrete.<\/p>\n On the day of your wedding issues may arise that are beyond your control.\u00a0 Okay, the flowers are not the exact shade of purple that you wanted\u2026.but people will never know, and it\u2019s not all that important in the big picture of the day.<\/p>\n Number 9:\u00a0 Make Decisions & Go Forward.<\/strong><\/p>\n Everyone will have an opinion about the decisions you make.\u00a0 For example, \u201cWhat! Your bridesmaid are wearing different style dresses!\u00a0 Or, \u201cI think the cakes from XYZ Bakery or so much better.\u00a0 Maybe you should talk with them.\u201d\u00a0 \u00a0I know that friends and families mean well, but it is YOUR wedding, so go with your choices.\u00a0 If you second guess yourself every time someone questions your decision, you\u2019ll drive yourself crazy.<\/p>\n Number 8:\u00a0 Make & Keep Deadlines<\/strong>.<\/p>\n Be a good bride.\u00a0 If the DJ needs his payment two weeks prior to your event, please make sure that it is done.\u00a0 Be organized and keep notes, and you will feel so much better.\u00a0 If you have an appointment to get your fitting for your dress, be there and have the proper underwear.\u00a0 It\u2019s when things are not done as scheduled, that stress starts to creep in and that creates anxiety.<\/p>\n Number 7:\u00a0 Delegate.<\/strong><\/p>\n You are not a \u201cSuper You.\u201d\u00a0 You can\u2019t do everything.\u00a0 Weddings take a lot of effort and you must learn to request help from family and friends.\u00a0 On your wedding day there is so much going on that the last thing you want to deal with is the missing cufflinks or the cake that has not yet arrived.<\/p>\n Are you a Pinterest addict?\u00a0 Have you watched every episode to \u201cSay Yes to the Dress\u201d marathons?\u00a0 Throw all of that away and take a quiet moment and decide what YOU want your wedding to be. \u00a0\u00a0By keeping the wedding representative of you and your fianc\u00e9\u2019 personality, style and wishes, you will be able to enjoy your day and focus on just having a wonderful time.<\/p>\n Number 5:\u00a0 Treat your vendors with respect & you\u2019ll receive a whole lot more.<\/strong><\/p>\n Trust your vendors to do their job.\u00a0 Do not try to micro manage.\u00a0 Be courteous and respectful as they work really hard to make sure that your day is super special.\u00a0 Thank them at the end of the night.\u00a0 And a tip to show them that they are appreciated is always a thoughtful gesture.\u00a0 Later, after the wedding, a nice thank you note is also welcomed.<\/p>\n Number 4:\u00a0 Don\u2019t drag your fianc\u00e9 to all your appointments.<\/strong><\/p>\n Most guys are not really into all the details of the wedding day.\u00a0 They want to get married and they have chosen you to be their wife.\u00a0 Understand that getting married has a different meaning to them than to you.<\/p>\n Number 3:\u00a0 Communicate clearly and promptly.<\/strong><\/p>\n Communication is the most important aspect to insure all parties are on the same page.\u00a0 You need to take the initiative to make sure everyone knows what is expected of them.\u00a0 For example, if your bridesmaids are expected to arrive early for photos, you need to let them know precisely what time they are expected.\u00a0 Don\u2019t say, \u201cCome Early for Photos\u201d.\u00a0 Tell them, \u201cYou need to be here no later than 2 pm to take photos.\u201d \u00a0And don\u2019t tell them at the last minute.\u00a0 One late person can disrupt the entire schedule for the day.<\/p>\n Number 2:\u00a0 Listen.<\/strong><\/p>\n The strong skill to learn is to listen.\u00a0 And that goes for the rest of the marriage as well.<\/p>\n Don\u2019t suffer a bridal meltdown.\u00a0 It is often the case that as a bride you are so wound-up and worried about every aspect of the day, that you have failed to add yourself to the \u201ctake care of\u201d list.\u00a0 Find whatever works for you to find relaxation.\u00a0 You will look and feel gorgeous and glowing on your wedding day by taking a little time to pamper yourself.\u00a0 Arrive to your wedding relaxed and refreshed!<\/p>\n If you do all of the above, you will be a way cool bride!\u00a0 Your wedding will be great.\u00a0 It will be flawed but fantastic, insane but incredible.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Anyone remember David Letterman’s Late Night show?\u00a0 David Letterman had his Top Ten lists.\u00a0 With that in mind, I put together a Top Ten Guidelines to be a Better Bride.\u00a0 This list is designed to help you really enjoy the most important day of your life AND at the same time eliminate the stress of…<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":7,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"open","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"_kad_post_transparent":"default","_kad_post_title":"default","_kad_post_layout":"default","_kad_post_sidebar_id":"","_kad_post_content_style":"default","_kad_post_vertical_padding":"default","_kad_post_feature":"","_kad_post_feature_position":"","_kad_post_header":false,"_kad_post_footer":false,"footnotes":"","_wp_rev_ctl_limit":""},"categories":[77,91],"tags":[],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"\n![\"BN6A8421\"](\"https:\/\/bridestlouis.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/BN6A8421-334x500.jpg\")
